About

The Bob Abley Art Gallery, which is based in Spennymoor Town Hall in County Durham, hosts the internationally renowned artist Norman Cornish where there is a large collection of his original work for sale as well as prints. The gallery also hosts his original studio, recreated by his family, whilst the Town Hall is also the starting point of the Norman Cornish Trail that takes on a journey around the Town while capturing his iconic paintings at the locations in which they were painted.

The gallery is also home to the incredible Chris and Steve Rocks twins who paint on the same painting at the same time. Winners of the Fine Art Trade Guild's best new artists, the twins represent a unique phenomenon in the art world with each piece capturing the power, whilst exploring the effects of light on land, sky and water.

The gallery also hosts around a further 35 artists all selling their work to the public covering subject work from social history, including mining and ship building, through to very modern and contemporary work and street art of the highest of standards. So something for everyone who is looking to view, purchase or invest in the very best of art. The gallery is open 7 days per week 9.00am - 4.00pm with FREE entry and FREE parking at the rear of the building.
