About

The Bob Abley Art Gallery at Spennymoor Town Hall is quickly becoming one of the biggest and busiest in the North East of England.

Located within Spennymoor Town Hall, across two floors, the gallery hosts a large selection of art for sale by over thirty of the country’s top regionally and internationally renowned artists, that is forever changing.  The large selection of stunning pieces will astound the art lover and buyer, and is a must see for those who invest in the very best of art.

Within the gallery there is also a large collection of original works for sale and prints by Norman Cornish, many of which have never been seen before.  Also on display is his original studio, depicting how and where he painted, re-created from his home in Spennymoor.

We are also privileged to host the permanent ‘Coming Home’ exhibition by Chris and Steve Rocks which includes an incredible selection of over 30 pieces of their original work and hand embellished prints.  The ‘award winning’ twins who uniquely both work on a painting at the same time are hosted on the top floor of the gallery and in over three rooms.

The Gallery continues to look for new exciting artists looking to see their work, as well as people who would like to sell their own art in the gallery.  For further information, please contact us on 01388 815276 or by email info@spennymoor-tc.gov.uk.
