Durham's Advent Calendar

Every day in December, a new door of the advent calendar will open to reveal exclusive offers, amazing discounts and incredible prizes. Behind each door in the run up to Christmas you'll find a fantastic festive treat for you or a loved one.

Terms and Conditions

The winner(s) will be drawn at random by the Promoter (Visit County Durham) within four working days of the competition closing date. The winner(s) will be notified by email within one week of the winner being drawn. The winner(s) must notify Visit County Durham of their acceptance of the prize within five working days of notification. In the event of non-response or non-acceptance within the specified time period, the Promoter reserves the right to reallocate the prize to the next randomly drawn valid entry.

• No purchase is necessary.

• Open to adults aged 18 and over.

• The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash or credit value alternative.

• Visit County Durham employees and their families, and any person professionally connected with the competition, are not permitted to enter.

• All entries must be received by the advertised closing date.

• All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them and must not have been published elsewhere or have won a prize in any other photographic competition. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject and do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.

• Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to Visit County Durham and Raby Estates to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites, their social media channels, and/or in any promotional material.

• The competition and entries may also feature in regional press, and the winners may be required to take part in publicity.

• The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

• All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash or credit value alternative.

• Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of Visit County Durham and accordingly Visit County Durham may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to Visit County Durham as a result thereof.

• Any expenditure incurred by the winner(s) over and above the prize elements detailed, must be settled by the prize winner. Travel costs are not included in the prize.

• Winner(s) names will be published on www.visitcountydurham.org

• The Promoter will not accept responsibility for loss of entries through technical fault or transmission delays, or due to incomplete or illegible submissions. Proof of entry is not automatically proof of receipt.

• In the event of unforeseen circumstances the Promoter reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.

• The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any incident which may occur during redemption of a prize.

• All information detailing how to enter this competition forms part of these terms and conditions. It is a condition of entry that all rules are accepted as final and that the competitor agrees to abide by these rules. The decision of Visit County Durham and Raby Estate is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Submission of an entry will be taken to mean acceptance of these terms and conditions.
