We’re a family run independent cafe based in Durham’s historic subscription reading rooms serving a wide range of food from light bites and paninis through to our home-made quiche, salads and soups.
We make all our own cakes and the first batch of our renowned scones come out of the oven at 10am every morning - what we sell is made the same day and if there are any left over they go to the Salvation Army for the homeless.
Our coffee is sublime and, besides being organic, fair trade and rain forest alliance certified, the blend is so secret that to protect it the beans have to be mixed by blind monks!
