The Knitting Gift Shop is situated in Willington, a small town in the Wear Valley on the edge of the North Pennines. It is from the Weardale countryside that we draw inspiration when choosing the colours for our range of wool. All of the wool used in our Natural Knits range is made with carefully selected fleece that is mainly sourced from farms throughout the UK and then spun for us by traditional independent mills. The diverse range of products are all designed by Tricia, taught to knit at the age of five by her mother, who was herself an accomplished knitter and seamstress and whose influence still inspires Tricia’s work today. The product range encompasses a broad selection of items such as brooches, purses, hand warmers, hats, bags, cushions, scarves, wraps and cowls. There is also a good choice of ‘Easy Knit’ patterns & kits ideally suited to beginner knitters.
Because we are primarily a gift shop we also have a range of luxury knitting hampers featuring our kits alongside lots of other knitting related goodies, many of them unique and made for us by local craftspeople and artisans and it is from this thriving community that we source our wooden yarn bowls, yarn servers, swifts & accessories along with our ceramic yarn bowls.
