About

Chester-le-Street Leisure Centre has a 25 metre large pool and 12.5 metre learner pool. Our swimming lesson programme gives children from the age of 3 years the opportunity to learn to swim with a progressive pathway. We also run Adult lessons and pool lifeguard courses.


We have a range of exercise classes to suit all fitness levels, from Aquafit and Aqua Zumba classes in the pool to Spinning, Metafit, Body Tone and Zumba classes. We also have a 45 station fitness suite with a mixture of cardio and resistance equipment and a weights room for resistance and free weight training.


The indoor play area is a fun place for children 1-12 years old with play party options available.


We have 2 squash courts available for hire and a Sauna and Steam Room.

Road Directions

Nearest major road is A1(M). Come off A1 at junction 63 go South on the A167 towards Durham. Take the second exit on the next roundabout and head towards Chester-le-Street. Turn left at mini roundabout, left at the next one and Leisure Centre at the end.

Public Transport Directions

Nearest station is Chester-le-Street Station. Walk down to Chester-le-Street Front Street . Turn left and walk down front street until you get to The Corner House Public House and turn right. Walk along the road straight over mini roundabout and follow road to Leisure Centre.
