St Cuthbert - Durham, Farne & Lindisfarne - An easy walking tour where you discover the life of St Cuthbert and some of the serenely beautiful scenery that hasn't changed much since his time.
You start by spending two nights in the City of Durham. Here you can visit the Norman Cathedral where the tomb of St Cuthbert lies. A walk around the river loop will give you a good idea of this impressive miniature city.
You will then be transferred to the Northumberland Coast at Seahouses. Here you take one of the converted fishing boats for a two trip out to the Farne Islands. You spend the night in Seahouses.
The next morning we will arrange to take you to the causeway which leads to Holy Island and Lindisfarne; where hopefully you will spend the final night on the island (this will very much depend on the tides - which cut the island off from the mainland). You can visit the Abbey and the Castle to learn more about Saint Cuthbert as well as discovering some of the coastal bird life that frequents this coastline.
On the final morning we will make arrangements to deliver you to the nearest rail station (Morpeth or Alnwick) which have connections to Edinburgh, Manchester or London.
Five nights bed & breakfast in en-suite accommodation, luggage transfer and transport to Seahouses and shuttle arrangements when required to walk across the causeway to Holy Island and Lindisfarne and back to the nearest rail station on the departure morning - £437 (per person sharing either a twin or double room with your partner or a friend). £643 (one person in a single occupancy room).
