About

Touring and Residential Caravan Park (no tents) in unique and picturesque setting overlooking Finchale Priory ruins which have stood in a meander of the River Wear for hundreds of years.

40 pitches for touring caravans and motor homes with 3 serviced plots, all with electricity hook-up points. Park also BH and HBA approved and currently redeveloping a residential park.

Excellent refurbished toilet block with toilets, showers, washing-up facilities, hand-dryers and hairdryers, access for wheelchairs and disabled facilities. Also on-site disposal for chemical toilet waste. Shop opens daily with range of basic goods and coffee shop at Finchale Priory. Large shopping complex 1.5 miles away.

Ideally located for the beautiful cathedral city of Durham, only 4 miles away, as well as Beamish, Diggerland, Washington Wild Fowl Park, Killhope, High Force and MetroCentre.

Approximately 10 minutes walk from Cocken Lodge Driving Range and Golf Course where park patrons are invited to use bar. Fishing permits for 2 mile stretch of river available from shop (river board licence also required - see fishing section on our website).

Card system for access to park and toilets, all visiting tourists provided with card while on park. Security guard on site 24 hours.

Dogs welcome but must be on lead at all times, with respect for other site users.

The road to the priory is a good tarmac road.

At junction 63 head south on A167 for approximately four miles, signposted from Arnison Centre (Finchale Priory). Follow signs to Finchale Priory.
