St Margaret's Allotments, Churchyard and Centre Open Day

There are over eighty allotment gardens to visit (open from 14.00 to 17.00), the churchyard and St Margaret's Church to explore (open from 14.00 to 17.00), and the Centre (open from 11.00 to 16.00), offering a lovely selection of refreshments in their community cafe, a variety of handmade wooden homeware and gifts made in their workshop, and some crafty activities. It will also be hosting local artist Alison Gargett, who will have a stall featuring some of her work for sale.

On the allotments and in the churchyard, there will be a range of activities, including a world-class scarecrow competition, talks on composting methods, an expertly guided tour of the history and archaeology of the allotments and the churchyard, wildlife activities, crafts and trails for children, information tables for number of related organisations, stalls selling produce, greetings cards, crafts, cake, jam, chutney etc., and a musical programme in the open air.
