About
Little Detectives Club – Fingerprinting Academy
Every great detective starts with a single clue…
This summer, give your child the chance to step into the fascinating world of crime scene investigation at the Little Detectives Club Fingerprinting Academy. Designed especially for curious young minds aged 7–12, this exciting two-hour workshop introduces children to one of the most important skills used by real detectives and forensic investigators.
Hosted by Valentine Bain, Maggie and Rosie, our much-loved detective team, this hands-on session is packed with fun, discovery and problem-solving. Young detectives won't just learn about fingerprints—they'll become real investigators, working through evidence to solve their own mystery.
Throughout the workshop, children will discover why every fingerprint is unique and how police and forensic scientists use fingerprints to identify people and link suspects to crime scenes. They'll explore the different fingerprint patterns, learn how fingerprints are collected, and then put their new knowledge into practice using professional-style fingerprinting equipment.
Each child will have the opportunity to dust for fingerprints, lift prints from objects, compare evidence and analyse fingerprint patterns before working together to solve a mini detective case. It's a fun and engaging way to encourage observation, critical thinking, teamwork and confidence while introducing real forensic science in an age-appropriate way.
The Little Detectives Club has been created by the team behind The Detective Rooms, where real investigative techniques inspire immersive crime-solving experiences. Every workshop is designed to be educational, interactive and memorable, encouraging children to think like detectives while having enormous fun.
