Late Night Opening at Durham Cathedral

Explore the cathedral in a different light, as we open the doors late at night on Tuesday 30 September and Wednesday 1 October.

Step into the Museum after hours and get up close to three rare Magna Cartas as part of Magna Carta and the North exhibition. Wander around the cathedral and don't forget to climb the tower and watch the sun set over Durham city.

Browse the shop and grab a drink in the Cloisters.

See the illuminous artwork 'The Words That Bind Us' by Nicola Anthony, flow down the Nave in a different light. This is a unique opportunity to view the artwork as the cathedral gets darker on an evening.

• The Shop and Museum will be open all day from 10am - 9pm.
• Visitor Desk will be open from 6.30pm - 9pm.
• Climb the tower at 7pm and 8pm.
• The Undercroft will be closed, but grab a drink in the Cloisters instead.
