Morvern Graham, Amy Jeffs and Aimée MacDonald explore how modern interpretations of folklore can bring new life to ancient stories through prose and visual art. Visual artist Morvern Graham shares her new take on our country’s traditional folktales throughout the year in Seasonal Folktales. Amy Jeffs’ Arthur: A New Life examines the truth behind the myth of the legendary British king. Finally, Aimée MacDonald joins them with her debut novel The Last Witch on the Knock, which sees two women bound by witchcraft across centuries.
Morvern Graham is an award-winning illustrator, printmaker, and is the Storyteller in Residence for the perfume company Ffern. Her work is influenced by her combined Scottish and Scandinavian heritage. Seasonal Folktales is her debut book.
Dr. Amy Jeffs is the author of three non-fiction books about British folklore and mythology, including Storyland which was a Sunday Times Bestseller. Arthur: A New Life is her most recent non-fiction work and is illustrated by Amy herself.
Aimée MacDonald is a Durham-based Scottish writer of short stories, and poetry. The Last Witch on the Knock is her first novel.
