1820s Pockerley
Venture back and experience the revelry of an 1820s Christmas at Pockerley. Admire the lavish food displays, discover traditional decorations which make the most of the stunning greenery, and see how Christmas was celebrated over 200 years ago.
1900s Town
Take a stroll down the resplendent 1900s cobbled street, where homes and shopfronts are decked for the season. Indulge in freshly baked treats from the bakery, pick up sweet delights from the sweet shop, and browse our market stalls for that perfect gift. Create your own ‘Christmas card moment’ with a trip to our Edwardian photographers’ – winter costumes available! (small charge applies).
1900s Pit Village
Down in The 1900s Pit Village, discover a miners’ Christmas, with beautifully decorated cottages, displays of homemade festive baking, and the comforting, warm glow of community spirit.

We’re keeping those home fires burning as we experience a wartime Christmas at The 1940s Farm. Discover how people celebrated with ration recipes and thoughtful, handmade gifts.
1950s Town
Enjoy a glorious technicolour Christmas in our 1950s Town! With nostalgic 1950s decorations, seasonal displays in our shops, festive film offerings in the cinema and even the chance to get a party-ready hairdo in our hairdresser’s (additional charge applies).
Spain’s Field Farm
Visit Spain’s Field Farm to find out how farming families of the 1950s marked the festive season – complete with traditional decorations and quintessentially 1950s touches.
Festive Food
And finally, eat, drink and be merry as you enjoy tastes of the past from out catering outlets across the museum.
Father Christmas’ Grotto
On sale Monday, 29th June 2026
Meet Father Christmas in his cosy Grotto at Rowley Station Goods Yard.
£10 per child (0-16 years), includes a small, traditional gift.
Two adults are welcome per child. Please book any additional adults in advance – £2.50 per additional adult.
Under 5s do not require a ticket to enter the museum but will require a Grotto ticket if they wish to visit Father Christmas. Subject to availability.
