About

We are a husband and wife team Allison and Jonathan based in Teesdale who make multi-award winning cheeses with milk from a farm that has been in our family for five generations, so we know the milk quality is fantastic!

Cheesedale is a cheese-centric cafe and shop where the menu revolves around the cheese we make on the premises.  You can take a peek into the dairy and see where the cheese is made, meet our rare breed pigs who are fed on the whey from the cheesemaking and enjoy a great cheese board and cup of coffee in the cafe.  If you want to extend your stay you can book a couple of nights in our on site lodges with wood fired hot tubs - unplug and recharge, a slice of cheese and tranquility!

Cheesemaking day with award winning cheesemaker Allison Raper (max 4 people)
pend a day in the dairy making cheese with award winning chesemaker, Allison Raper. Get your hands in the vat, try your hand at salting and turning cheese and get a behind the scenes look at how we make our cheeses. Leave the cheese you've made with us to ripen and we'll send it to you once it's matured to enjoy with your family and friends. (mainland UK only).

Dairy Tour (max 8 people)
A behind the scenes tour of the dairy with award winning cheesemaker Allison Raper revealing some of the secrets about how we make our award winning cheeses.

Cheese Tasting Tour (max 8 people)
A linguistic tour of our cheese board. Let Jonathan guide you through the tastes of our cheeses on this lipsmacking treat. A real taste adventure for cheese lovers.
