You are here > Home > Things to Do > Blackhall - Connecting the Coast
The walks explore the coastal nature reserves and provide stunning views of the Magnesian Limestone cliffs and stacks formed from the relentless pounding of the North Sea.
All three walks connect to the King Charles III England Coast Path. This path is being developed and will soon go all the way around the coast of England. The section in Durham is fully open and provides wonderful views of the cliffs, beaches and coastal wildlife. Look out for reminders of the coal-mining industry, spot wildflowers and seabirds and maybe even dolphins and seals out to sea. The green walk is suitable for most people. The other walks have steps and may be muddy in places. There are benches on the walks. Barriers prevent access for mobility scooters and pushchairs on the yellow and red routes. Take care on the coast, follow local signs and keep back from the cliff edge.
