About

The Covey is a single-storey home set within private grounds, offering stunning views over Hurworth Burn Reservoir. A quiet and simple base for spending quality time with family and friends, it’s designed for those who want to take things slowly and enjoy each other’s company. Whether for a weekend or a longer break, The Covey provides space and comfort for the whole flock.

The house accommodates up to 12 adults, with five bedrooms, plus a double sofa bed and an additional folding guest bed suitable for a child under 12. The bedrooms include:

•           A super king-size master bedroom with en-suite (bath, shower and WC).

•           Two double bedrooms (one king, one standard double).

•           Two twin bedrooms (one can convert into a super king).

The family bathroom features a bath and separate shower. There’s also an additional WC off the hallway.

The heart of the home is the kitchen and dining area. Here there is a large table and windows offering panoramic countryside views. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a range oven, hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and Nespresso machine.

Next to the kitchen, the lounge is a place to relax, with a wood-burning stove, smart TV with Netflix, a DVD player, and a selection of books, board games, and magazines.

Outside, the private garden includes a hot tub, a BBQ, an outdoor dining area, and a garden hammock for quiet moments. The grounds offer plenty of space for walking, sitting, or letting children explore.

The house is equipped with everything needed to entertain children, including an outdoor play area, indoor toys, and games. Cots, highchairs, bed guards, a baby bath, and a potty are available on request.

A utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, and ironing board is provided, along with Wi-Fi throughout the house. There is ample parking for several vehicles.

A welcome pack with local essentials awaits guests, along with complimentary toiletries, hairdryers, and towels for both indoor and hot tub use.

Dogs are welcome at The Covey. However, they must stay off all furniture and beds, and waste should be cleared using the bags provided.

The Covey is designed to be a straightforward, relaxed space for families and groups to enjoy time together. Cook meals, take walks, relax by the fire, or soak in the hot tub under the open skies.
