We’re celebrating a special summer of stories at Ushaw! Discover what’s in-store below.

The Wonderful World of Ladybird Books Artists – The family friendly exhibition celebrates the art of the Ladybird book artists from the 1940s to the 1970s.

Ladybird Spotting Trail – Wander around Ushaw’s magnificent House and Chapels to locate Ladybird Books.

Toy Takeover – We’ll have with heaps of track and trains for your young engineers to construct and play to their hearts content.

Summer Garden Trail – Stroll through our gardens this summer with our outdoor trail, including fun movement activities for people with energy to burn, or a peaceful prompt for those who want to take a pause.

Outdoor Games & Activities – Football goals, Giant Lawn Games, Hula Hooping, Badminton, Space Hoppers and much more.

Woodland Playpark – Explore our Woodland Playpark next to the Bounds field.

Tales Tuesday | 22, 29 July | 5, 12, 19, 26 August, 11am
Join us in our brand new Ladybird Book exhibition for our weekly Tales Tuesday story time. Included with Day Pass or Membership. Find out more here.

Magical Mosaics | 22, 28 July | 12 August, 1:30pm
Come and create your own summer themed mosaic using tumbled glass in a range of shapes and colours to bring your vision to life. Pre-booking required here.

Inflatable Golf | 30 July & 21 August, 10am – 4pm
Join us for a day filled with fun as we’ll be joined by Beamish Park Golf Club with their Inflatable Golf experience. Included with Day Pass or Membership. No pre-booking required.

Summer Yoga | 24, 31 July | 6, 13, 20, 27 August, various times
Join our experienced Yoga instructor for a guided session of child-friendly Yoga in our beautiful building. Sessions funded through Sport England Movement Fund.

Join us for a super fun workshop where you will get to design, create and animate a summer themed story stop motion. Pre-booking required here.

Wonderful Weaving | 5 & 26 August, 1:30pm

Puppet Creation and Story Crafting with Victoria Downes | 18 & 25 August, 10:30am

Summer Young Stitchers | 14 August, 1:30pm
