Stanhope Station is transformed into a magical Christmas destination with sparkling lights, seasonal decorations and plenty of festive atmosphere. Santa's mischievous elves welcome passengers before they board beautifully decorated heritage railway carriages for a truly memorable journey.
During the trip, families enjoy interactive entertainment, Christmas music, laughter and surprises, all led by Santa's energetic team of elves. The highlight of every journey is a personal visit from Father Christmas, who meets every family and presents each child with a special Christmas gift.
The Santa Express runs on selected dates from late November until Christmas Eve, with departures from Stanhope Station, County Durham (DL13 2YS). Guests can choose from Gold or VIP seating, with all seating arranged around tables to create a cosy, family-friendly atmosphere. Due to its popularity, advance booking is essential and many departures sell out well before Christmas.
