Flex your crafty, art skills and join animator Sheryl for a series Halloween inspired animation drop in sessions.
Sheryl Jenkins is a North East based animator and participatory artist. Her artistic practice includes moving image content for theatre and television, commercial film work, and education and community projects.

Taking inspiration from the Spanish Gallery’s collection of still life paintings , and making use of junk materials, found objects, textiles and natural materials, you’ll be able to bring movement to your own spooky, (not so) still life scene.

During the workshop:

You’ll learn about stop motion animation
Build your scene
Use apps to animate your ideas
Add sound effects to bring your painting inspired scene to life
Sheryl’s Open Art Space activity is engaging and accessible and suitable for all ages and abilities.

Equipment is provided and you can find out about some free apps to try at home. You don’t need to have any previous animation experience just plenty of enthusiasm.

A copy of your film will be made available after the sessions.
