Situated in the Vale of Durham in a beautiful country setting, we are close to Beamish Museum and directly situated between Durham City and Newcastle.

South Causey Inn can provide you with a traditional country wedding, set in the beautiful countryside with a relaxed informal environment. Our four venues, The Old Barn, The Durham Suite, The Beamish Barn, and The Farmhouse are all individually unique and stand-alone venues completely separate from each other which cater to a different size, type, and style of weddings.

Every couple who are making this big commitment require different things from this monumental day and our professional team here at South Causey Inn, are committed to working with you to fulfil your wedding dream.

Our team of Chefs are on hand to create your bespoke wedding breakfasts from the traditional meal to picnic baskets, glorious buffets and much more.

Road Directions

South Causey Inn is on the A6076 between Stanley and Gateshead. Take Junction 63 from the A1(M) at Chester-le-Street and follow A693 and signs to Stanley and Beamish Museum and the A6076.

Public Transport Directions

There is an excellent bus route - the X30 from Stanley. Closest train stations are Durham and Newcastle.Newcastle airport is within a 25 minute car journey.
