Sarah Nelson Studio, set within an upland hay meadow, in the high Durham Dales, offers year round creative workshops which encourage individual expression and a joy of mark making. This live work natural space also includes Sarah Nelson Gallery which hosts approximately six exhibitions a year by contemporary British artists. This unique space brings quality fine art and a high standard of teaching into a rural environment. The home studio is built from natural materials, particularly, the use of exposed hempcrete. The new build was featured on Grand Designs in 2025 and therefore attracts interest and visitors who are both curious about the use of natural materials but also who would like to explore their own creativity in a comfortable ,relaxing environment within stunning scenery. The space can also be hired for events of up to 50 people.
Sarah Nelson Studio and Gallery offers workshops, retreats and event spaces designed to inspire creativity, connection and memorable experiences.
