What to expect
You will see themed panels along the trail which will prompt you to pause, notice and connect with the forest. Our wellbeing trail will engage your senses, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in Hamsterley forest.
About the route
The walk follows the Bedburn Beck for a short time before climbing through beautiful mixed woodland, high above the valley floor. The route takes you into areas of the forest rarely visited by others, where you can pause, take a moment and refresh your mind. This is a 2 mile walk, on both wide forest tracks and narrow footpaths over mixed terrain, with some areas rough and uneven.
This trail is supported by Sport England using National Lottery funding.
Trail Length - 2.5 miles. The trail is accessible, following a mixture of forest road and newly resurfaced trail.
