**Following our initial announcement last year, we can confirm that Empire Consett will close temporarily from Friday 9 February for essential roof maintenance works. Due to the nature of the works and health and safety regulations, it is not possible for any area of the building, including Empire Lounge, to remain open to the public during this time. Online and telephone bookings will not be affected, and a temporary Box Office will be installed at The Lodge in Blackhill & Consett Park which will be open 10am to 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for in-person bookings whilst we are closed. We will reopen in Autumn 2024 following completion of the works in time for our autumn programme of events including Leah Bell’s magical panto Cinderella, thanks for your understanding and continued support.**

The Empire Consett, is a much loved and well used town centre arts venue. It offers a year round live show programme, facilitating both professional and amateur performances, and an entertaining film programme comprised in the main popular mainstream films at reasonable prices.
