About
Get ready to spray, sketch and shine! This summer, your budding artists can dive into the colourful world of street art with a series of free, hands-on workshops at Dalton Park.
Running over six creative-packed days during the school holidays – Wednesday 23, Thursday 24, Friday 25 July, and Wednesday 30, Thursday 31 July and Friday 1 August – these fun and inspiring sessions are led by experienced street artist Lewis Hobson. A specialist in large-scale murals and community art, Lewis is passionate about engaging young people through creative expression.
In each session, kids will get to grips with real street art techniques using safe, chalk-based spray paints. They'll also get stuck into designing their own mural artwork in sketchbooks – which they can take home to show off their artistic flair.
And the best part? Some of the amazing designs created during the workshops will be brought to life! A selection of the children's designs will be digitalised and incorporated into two permanent new street art murals at Dalton Park – a vibrant celebration of creativity by local young people.
Each day will feature four workshop sessions at 11:00am, 12:30pm, 2:00pm and 3:30pm, with each session lasting up to an hour.
Parents or guardians must stay with their children throughout the session. Although the chalk spray paint should wash out easily, we recommend wearing old clothes that you don't mind getting messy.
Workshops are suitable for children aged 7–14 years.
And there's more! Lewis will also be showing off his skills with live mural painting at Dalton Park on Monday 21 and Monday 28 July – a brilliant chance to see street art in action and watch a masterpiece come to life.
Places at the workshops are limited and expected to fill fast, so don't miss out – book your spot now and let the creativity begin!
