About

This charming Hotel based just outside of Barnard castle is steeped in history, we have , doubles, twins, and family rooms,  2 self container cottages and an 8 bed apartment  available to stay in,  some of our rooms are also  pet friendly,  there is a bar and restaurant on site for guests.

Situated in the beautiful village of Bowes, close to Barnard Castle, the Ancient Unicorn offers the perfect base from which to explore the beautiful, unspoilt countryside of Teasdale. Just a couple of minutes from the A66, we’re also the ideal location for an overnight stopover for guests travelling to and from Scotland and the Lake District.
