The Space
Sharpley Hall Garden Studio is perfectly designed to accommodate two adults, offering the option of a super-king-size bed or two 3ft single beds. For larger groups, a king-size sofa bed is available upon request, making it an ideal choice for individuals, couples, or small families and friend gatherings.
This spacious, open-plan accommodation features distinct areas for living, sleeping, and dining, complemented by a fully equipped kitchen and a generous shower room.
In the kitchen, you will find all essential appliances, including a kettle, toaster, oven, hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer. For added convenience, a washing machine and tumble dryer can be made available upon request.
The bathroom is designed with a WC, wash basin, and a contemporary walk-in shower.
The super-king-size bed is equipped with convenient USB sockets on either side, along with bedside tray tables featuring touch lamps. An open wardrobe provides ample hanging space for your belongings.
The Neighbourhood
Nestled within the gated grounds of our family home, the Garden Studio enjoys a unique setting that combines a rural atmosphere with accessibility. Guests can appreciate the surrounding trees, fields, and wildlife, as well as their own private garden and patio area.
Golf enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to Sharpley Springs Golf Course and Driving Range, just a short stroll away, along with other courses like Ramside Hall and Houghton-le-Spring, located within a 5-15 minute drive.
For fishing enthusiasts, Sharpley Springs Fishing Lakes are just a two-minute walk from the studio.
If you're seeking more exhilarating activities, Karting North East is approximately one mile away.
Within a 2-3 mile radius, Seaham offers a wealth of options for exploration and entertainment.
Spend a leisurely day at Seaham Hall Hotel and Spa, where you can indulge in afternoon tea or a luxurious meal.
The area is also famous for its beaches, known for their sea glass, attracting visitors from around the globe.
Seaham Marina provides a tranquil setting for coffee or more adventurous activities such as kayaking, paddleboarding, or sea swimming.
Don’t miss the iconic ‘Tommy’ sculpture by Ray Lonsdale, which is surrounded by numerous spots to enjoy a drink or meal.
For those craving a cultural experience or a vibrant city atmosphere, both Durham and Sunderland are just a 15-minute drive away, with Newcastle accessible in only 30 minutes. Each city boasts its own distinctive attractions.
Getting Around
The rural setting of the accommodation makes travel easier if you have your own vehicle; however, a bus route to Seaham and Durham is conveniently located just a couple of minutes away on foot.
Several nearby cycle paths make for an enjoyable ride, and it is possible to walk into Seaham and Houghton (approximately 3 miles), which further connects you to public transport options.
Durham and Newcastle offer excellent rail services to various destinations across the UK, with direct routes available to cities such as Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, and Plymouth.
Both Newcastle International and Teesside International Airports are approximately 25 miles away, providing convenient travel options.
