Charming Cottage Retreat in the Heart of the Countryside
This beautifully presented cottage offers a true home-from-home experience, combining modern comforts with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Perfect for families, couples, or small groups, it's an ideal base for exploring the stunning surrounding countryside and local attractions.

Ground Floor
Step into the tastefully decorated living room, where you can cosy up by the fire and unwind after a day of adventure. A Smart TV is provided for your entertainment, perfect for relaxing evenings in.

The living room leads into the modern, light-filled kitchen/diner, equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals. Tea, coffee, sugar, and basic condiments are provided to get you started. A dining table in the kitchen makes it easy to socialise while you cook, or simply enjoy a leisurely breakfast. On sunny days, step outside and breathe in the fresh country air in the rear garden.

First Floor
Upstairs, you’ll find two beautifully decorated bedrooms:

  • The master bedroom with a comfortable double bed (sleeps 2)
  • A twin bedroom (sleeps 2)

The family bathroom is finished with stylish tiles and features a modern enclosed shower cubicle.

Outdoor Space
To the rear, a small garden area features a bistro table and chairs—a lovely spot for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. You’ll also find lockable bike storage, perfect for those planning to explore the area on two wheels.

Local information

Lily’s Cottage is located in St John’s Chapel, Weardale. Although in Country Durham the location is close to the borders of Cumbria and Northumberland making this an ideal base to get out and explore the National Landscape area.
Within walking distance of the cottage there are 2 pubs, one of which serves food, a café and Co-op, making it ideally placed for those who need to use public transport or want to stay local to St Johns Chapel. Local buses in the area are operated by Weardale travel.
For those who want to embrace the outdoors, you can begin many walks or cycle routes from the doorstep and the Weardale Activity Centre is a 2 minute car journey or a 10 minute walk from the cottage. The North of England Lead Mining Museum at Killhope is a five minute drive from the cottage, and is worth a visit giving you an insight into the lead mining era with underground tours.
