​​​​​​Join local author, historian and family history researcher Margaret Hedley for a talk about the Women of the Durham Coalfield in the 19th Century ‘Hannah’s Story’.

Margaret’s personal area of expertise focuses on her great great grandmother’s story and this research has been published under the above title.

This book became a trilogy, following the fortunes of the family and the lives of County Durham women from the 19th century up until the beginning of pit closures in east Durham in the 1960’s.
