About

**Due to continued essential upgrades to our overflows at Grassholme there will be no access for anglers or visitors to the dam wall and access to the north shore will only be from the western end car park**

Lying in the picturesque rolling pastures of upper Teesdale, near Mickleton and close to Barnard Castle, Grassholme Waterside Park is firmly established as one of the top any method fisheries in the region. Tickets can be purchased online via https://bookwhen.com/watersideparksnorth  or at the lodge

Please note your EA rod licence must be purchased online at https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences/buy-a-fishing-licence before fishing at one of our sites. Due to government changes we are no longer able to sell a rod licence at our Waterside Parks.

GRASSHOLME HIGHLIGHTS

Any method fishing for rainbow trout.

You can loose feed and ground bait.

Good numbers of 3lb average fish and specimens to double figures.

All fish stocked from its own local fish farm.

Disabled platform close to the visitor centre.

Tagged fish with cash prizes.

Four miles of bank space with many inlets and bays.

For those anglers who like to wander, the middle reaches of the reservoir offer some fantastic sport to fly and spinning methods.  On site there is a shop stocked with everything you need for a day’s fishing, including rods, reels, tackle, accessories, clothing, worms and baits.

Couples permit – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit allows cohabiting couples, partners and or spouse to fish together, with up to two of their children or grandchildren under the age of 17. Please note proof of cohabiting may be required i.e. utility bill. The shared catch limit for this permit is 12 fish in total.
Two rod permits – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit allows an individual angler to fish with two rods.
Concessions permits – T&Cs apply and can be found when booking online. This permit applies to any angler at the age of 65 or over or who has a blue badge.
T&C’s for all permits are shown when booking online. When you reach your catch you must stop fishing immediately.
Up to two children under 17 can fish free when one parent/guardian buys a standard day permit.
Parking charges are included in your fishing permit price.
Day permits are available to buy from Grassholme Reservoir visitor centre. Permits can also be bought in advance using your debit or credit card by calling on 01833 641 121 or online at www.bookwhen.com/watersideparksnorth
