About

The High Force Hotel is an historic coaching inn located in beautiful Upper Teesdale and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and adjacent to High Force, one of England's largest waterfalls. It enjoys a spectacular setting amidst magnificent scenery and a treasure chest of amazing attractions.

The Hotel has recently undergone a complete transformation. Guests will notice a stylish new look in the bar and communal areas, bringing the interiors in line with the beautiful restoration of the Garden Room restaurant and function room, which was unveiled in 2020. The hotel now has 10 individually designed en-suite bedrooms, offering luxurious guest accommodation.

The Hotel is run by Raby Estates, who also manage the 14th century Raby Castle 30 minutes’ drive away in Staindrop. Elements from the Castle can be seen featured in the new renovations. For example, intricate tiles that once decorated the walls of the Fish Yard, just off the popular Castle Kitchens, have been incorporated into the hotel’s re-design.

High Force Hotel is an ideal location for walkers and wildlife watchers who want to explore Teesdale, or enjoy a weekend getaway to the great outdoors. The Hotel is dog friendly and there are plenty of scenic walks right from the doorstep including routes to both High and Low Force along the Pennine Way.

The Hotel is also a popular destination for wedding parties. Groups can book exclusive access to the venue for their special day and High Force waterfall provides a unique photo opportunity.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Hotel for a memorable holiday.
