Enjoy a Royal Afternoon Tea at Bowes Museum

The Bowes Museum

What better place to visit to mark the occasion than The Bowes Museum?!
The museum’s connection with the royal family goes back to The Queen Mother, who belonged to the Bowes-Lyon family and was a descendent of the museum’s founder, John Bowes. The museum even welcomed the father of the groom – HRH the Prince of Wales on his recent visit to Durham in February.

Join Café Bowes for a very special Royal Afternoon Tea. This quintessentially British Afternoon Tea features dainty sandwiches, delicious cakes and scones all made using local produce. You can also choose to raise a toast to the happy couple with a glass of fizz.

Queen Victoria in Paris at the Bowes Museum

Showing scenes of the splendid celebrations held in the Queen's honour, the watercolours capture this unique moment in British and French history.
