Cromer House Camping Barn offers budget priced quality self-catering accommodation for up to 5 people. Accredited for energy saving work with our visitors and preparing for climate change with the Gold Green Business Award and for making families, cyclists and walker welcome and with mobility access level 2. Our restored 18thC barn is situated in the heart of Frosterley Village in beautiful Weardale. It is an ideal base for families and small groups to explore the Durham Dales and the North Pennines and visit Durham Cathedral, Killhope, Beamish and Bowes Museums. Set in a quiet courtyard garden with a secluded outdoor sitting area the barn has a fully equipped compact kitchen/dining room and wet room with shower/toilet. Upstairs is a comfortable studio style family room that sleeps 4 with an efficient wood burning stove, 1 double bed and 1 set of bunk beds, settee and club chairs. A solar panel supplements the heating and hot water. There is safe off-road parking and secure cycle storage. Filtered rain water is collected for the washing machine and toilet. Bring your own sleeping bag (£28 a night for 2) or we can provide bedding from £36). Local amenities include a good bus service, a well stocked Co-op, an excellent real ale pub, restaurant, a great traditional fish and chip shop and the Weardale Railway, village hall events playground and playing field. Special weekly rates £168/£216 for 2 people (November-March - 10% except Christmas and New Year), £240/£300 for 4 (Winter rate £194/£240 except Christmas and New Year) and offers for short breaks.
