This April, the Bishop Auckland Food Festival returns to the Vale of Durham, with over 160 stalls, celebrity chefs, live demonstrations and the first ever kids club filling the grounds of Auckland Castle and nearby market place. Plus the exciting Great North Festival of Transport begins at award-winning Beamish – The Living Museum of the North.

Sports lovers will not want to miss the second Royal London One Day International between England and Sri Lanka, taking place at the Emirates Durham International Cricket Ground on Sunday 25 May.

This summer, Durham is brought to life with international acts performing at Brass: Durham International Festival. Bands perform jazz, funk, classical, ska and traditional music during a packed programme of live entertainment running in July.
