About

Residents and visitors can discover a world of imagination in Bishop Auckland this summer at the town’s first ever Lego trail.

The Enchanted Bishop Auckland Lego Trail will take over the town centre from Monday 17 to Sunday 30 August.

Organised by Durham County Council and Bishop Auckland Town Council, the free event invites families to follow a magical trail filled with mystery, creativity and fun. Along the way, visitors will discover unique brick-built characters, creatures and displays inspired by fantasy, local heritage and the spirit of adventure.

The event will follow on from the Durham Enchanted Lego Trail, which is taking place in Durham City from Saturday 1 to Saturday 15 August and has been organised by Durham BID with support from Durham County Council and the City of Durham Parish Council.

Perfect for families, Lego enthusiasts, and visitors of all ages, the trail encourages participants to explore Bishop Auckland’s historic streets and attractions while searching for Fairytale Lego models along the way.

From hunting for dragons to posing for pictures in Cinderella’s carriage, there are fun experiences and surprises to be found around everyone corner.

Trail explorers can also seek out a hidden letter at each installation which, when joined together, form a word. They can then write the word on a postcard, which can be posted in special post boxes in Bishop Auckland Town Hall and The Artist Hub in the Market Place. Three correct entries will be selected at random to win a £250 voucher, £150 voucher and £100 voucher.

Bishop Auckland Town Council has also arranged some additional Lego themed activities in the town hall to complement the trail.

These include a one-hour Lego Racing session at 10.30am and 12.30pm on Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19 August, and a 90-minute Enchanted Princess session at 10am and 2pm on Friday 28 August. Places are limited to 30 children per session and cost £1 each, with parents required to stay throughout the sessions.

To book, visit Bishop Auckland Town Hall's website.
