Month of Summer Sundays in Durham

23rd August 2010

Categories: Visitor News

There is no excuse for staying in on Sundays this August.

Summer Sundays, a new campaign from Durham’s Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, is underway and is bringing family friendly events to the heart of Durham City every Sunday in August.

Summer Sundays kicked off on August 1 at a circus themed event with clowns, stilt walkers, magicians and face painters.

During the month, there will be a full programme of activities. Everyone is being encouraged to bring their teddy for a day out on the 15th August for the Teddy Bear Picnic and meet Paddington Bear. Whilst our Dr Who themed day on the 22nd August will give children the chance have their photograph taken next to the famous Police box and make Sonic Screwdrivers.

The Summer Sunday’s month will conclude with a Carnival themed event on Bank Holiday Sunday (29th August) which will take inspiration from the famous Notting Hill Carnival..

Richard Toynbee, manager of Prince Bishops said: “The Harry Potter Experience is part of the fabulous Summer Sundays in Prince Bishops every Sunday this August.  Summer Sundays in Prince Bishops is a great opportunity for the family to come to Durham for a fun day out.”
