Barnard Castle Band are Music to Castle’s Ears!

Music lovers will be delighted when visiting Raby Castle, nr Darlington this weekend. On Sunday 12th June, Barnard Castle Band will be joined by visiting Norwegian Wind Band, Gjerdrum Musikklag, to play an afternoon concert in Raby’s beautiful walled gardens, starting from 1.30pm.
The two bands will be celebrating the Norwegians’ visit by playing a wide range of traditional music from marches to show tunes and movie themes and everything in between.
Visitors are invited to bring a rug and relax in the surroundings of one of England’s finest medieval castles, which is open between Sundays and Wednesdays throughout May and June, and daily except Saturdays in July and August. The grounds and gardens, including the gift shop and tearooms, are open from 11am until 5pm, and the castle itself is open between 1pm and 4.30pm.
The afternoon concert will begin at approximately 1.30pm; there is no need to book in advance. Normal admission charges apply. This event is also free for season ticket holders.
