Romantic sandstone cottage built in the early 1800's and tucked away down a cobbled lane in the conservation village of Wolsingham, in unspoilt Weardale located in the North Pennines, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Within a leisurely stroll there are three welcoming pubs serving good food. There is also a good choice of cafes and local shops.
Wolsingham is known as the 'Gateway to the Dales' and well situated for exploring the attractions that the northern Dales have to offer. It is equally well placed for visiting the historic city of Durham with its castle and cathedral, Beamish Museum and the MetroCentre shopping development - all of which can be reached within a short drive.
The area is a walker's paradise with many walks that can be started from the cottage itself. Leaflets of some of the way marked walks are available for guests' use.
