Set on a hillside with stunning views over the surrounding countryside High Shipley Caravan is the ideal location to escape from the stresses and strains of daily life and find some peace and relaxation. Located on our family–run working farm it offers spotless and spacious accommodation made homely with fresh flowers.
Guests are very welcome to see the farm and experience the animals at close quarters. Children can help out at lambing time, feed the two horses ‘Minstral’ and ‘Gypsy’ and help to exercise the Border Collie dogs. Even the friendly cats will share your caravan – given the chance!
High Shipley is close to Hamsterley Forest with its many walks and cycling routes and the lovely Durham Dales and North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and European Geo park. It is also a perfect base for exploring this fascinating and contrasting region with a host of attractions and places to visit. Attractions within easy travelling distance include Medieval Raby Castle with its deer park, The Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle, Killhope Lead Mining Museum in Weardale, Beamish Museum and, not to be missed, the World Heritage Site of Durham City with its iconic Norman castle and cathedral.
