Local outdoors enthusiast Abi Atkinson needs your votes as she aims to take on an arctic expedition and inspire more young girls to follow in her footsteps.

Do you remember Abi and Rob from Kingsway Adventure Centre in Middleton-in-Teesdale?

You may recall that the couple featured in our video with Ben Fogle as part of the Great British Adventure series that brought the TV star to Durham this summer. Abi and Rob took Ben on a Gorge Walking experience before expertly guiding him as he tried a spot of waterfall jumping at Low Force.

Passionate about the great outdoors, Abi wants to inspire more young girls to follow in her footsteps, ignoring the pressures of modern-day society (find out more in her video below).

Abi is fighting it out against 14 other people from across the UK to take part in an Arctic expedition next April, and needs your votes to help her get there!

Only two people will head to arctic Sweden, and we'd love Abi to be our representative on this adventure of a lifetime. So let's all get behind Abi and vote for her to win!
