Hello, I’m David Waite, the founder and Director of Guiding You Ltd.

In 2001 after a career as a UK Finance Director, I completed the rigorous training and examinations for the Institute of Tourist Guiding Blue Badge Guide qualification for the Heart of England region. It didn’t take long for me to discover my preference for the joys of working with visitors from around the world, providing tours and working for myself!

I have also worked as an in-house guide at two Historic Country Houses in Northamptonshire, manned the Tourist Information Centre in Birmingham’s fascinating and historical Jewellery Quarter, manned conference welcome desks and started running workshops to help people face the fears of public speaking.

Since I formed Guiding You Ltd in 2005, in addition to planning, arranging and guiding coach and walking tours, I have specialised in driver guided tours, where I share and explore many areas of the UK. This is an easy going, flexible type of touring, where we can travel to famous places, but also many out of the way places to suit the client’s interests.

I have since qualified in the The South-West, The North-East and also Cumbria and the Lakes regions, which means that I am knowledgeable and enjoy guiding throughout a very large area of the UK. You can see a sample of suggested destinations to visit on our driver guided tours page.

I am an accredited guide for Windsor Castle & Eton and I am a Guide Trainer accredited by the Institute of Tourist Guiding.

To enable us to provide tours throughout the whole of the UK, Guiding You Ltd contracts with many excellent, knowledgeable and friendly freelance Blue and Green Badge Tourist Guides.

We cater to discerning travellers who enjoy learning and understanding about the United Kingdom as we explore our history, geography and local culture. We can create a tour suited to your interests which may include castles and country houses, coast and countryside, gardens, ancient churches, film locations, industrial heritage, archaeology, arts & crafts or your own ancestral family heritage. Naturally, we always allow time for a little retail discovery where this is requested!
