Regional Producers Market at Durham Cathedral

Christmas Craft Fair at Brancepeth Castle 

Where? Brancepeth Castle, Brancepeth  

When? Friday 22 November 

Over 80 craft stalls, with fabulous creations to buy and commission including art, photography, jewellery, textiles, pottery, glassware, leather craft, woodwork, sculpture, skin care products, clothing, toys, and upcycled items. Enjoy delicious homemade food and cakes available in the two cafes in the castle.

Northern Craft Market 

Where? The Witham, Barnard Castle 

When? Saturday 23 November and Saturday 7 December 

Find a wide variety of artists and craftspeople from around Northern England at The Witham. Browse 20 stalls filled with handmade gifts and good including jewellery, prints, handmade toys and more.

Walworth Castle Christmas Market

Where? Walworth Castle Hotel, Darlington  

When? Friday 29 November - Sunday 1 December

Experience the sights and sounds of Christmas as you browse a variety of stalls filled with beautiful handmade decorations, jewellery and gifts all within the grounds of Walworth Castle Hotel. 

Durham City's Traditional Christmas Festival

Where? Durham City

When? Friday 29 November - Sunday 1 December 

Experience a Christmas festival like no other, as Durham City is transformed into a winter wonderland, filled with fun festive entertainment and top shopping opportunities.

Explore the huge craft and gift marquee on Palace Green with other 180 stalls and in the cloisters of Durham Cathedral discover regional food and drink at the Producers Market featuring more than 30 local traders. Durham Market Hall will be open each day of the festival and a special festive market can be found in the city's market place.

Lumley Castle Christmas Markets 

Where? Lumley Castle Hotel, Chester-Le-Street 

When? Monday 2 and Thursday 5 December   

Shop til you drop at the annual Lumley Castle Christmas markets. Filled with local suppliers, delicious festive treats and unique gifts. We also recommend indulging in the castle's famous festive afternoon tea, served with mulled whilst enjoying the live carols in the Barons Hall. 

The South Causey Inn's Christmas Markets 

Where? The South Causey Inn, Stanley 

When? Tuesday 3 and Tuesday 10 December

The South Causey's weekly farmers market takes on a festive feel throughout December. Browse stalls from local artisans and traders, filled with treats and treasures that cannot be found on the high street. From fine foods and homewares, to health and beauty products, crafts and everything in-between.

Seaham Hall Spa Festive Fair

Where? Seaham Hall, Seaham 

When? Thursday 5 December 

Enjoy complimentary mulled wine and mince pies, a Santa photo booth and live music as you browse the wonderful stalls featuring well known brands such as Temple Spa, Ishga, Cheese & Chacuterie and many more. All attendees will also be entered into a prize draw to win a midweek Twilight Spa for two! 

Raby Castle Christmas Markets 

Where? Raby Castle, Staindrop  

When? Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December 

Searching for that unique gift? Head to Raby Castle's Christmas Food and Gift Market for plenty of inspiration. You'll find lots of stalls filled with seasonal produce and presents for all the family. You can even meet Father's Christmas' reindeer! Be sure to pop into the Stables Cafe for a refreshing bite to eat and pick up unique items in the Stables magical Christmas shop.

Christmas Shopping Fair at The TCR Hub

Where? The TCR Hub, Barnard Castle

When? Saturday 7 December

A wonderful range of seasonal stalls with gifts from local producers, designers and creators. Enjoy acoustic musical entertainment and the Kitchen at the Hub will be serving warming mulled wine and festive treats. And don't forget your little ones can take part in the sELFie trail around the hub's grounds, plus you'll find plenty of games and activities to entertain the family whilst you shop. 

Christmas Market at The Bowes Museum

When? Friday 13 - Sunday 15 December 

Soak up the atmosphere at The Bowes Museum's feel good event of the season, with festive foods, crafts and music. Browse a fantastic range of independent traders and stallholders with taste bud tempting food, drink and hand made gifts. Enjoy live music with performances from local bands, schools and community groups whilst you shop in the grounds of the stunning museum.

When? Thursday 17 December 

Stock up on lots of delicious local produce as the monthly farmers and producers market takes on a festive feel. Buy from producers from around the region and find locally reared meats and locally grown vegetables. You'll be able to pick up quirky gifts, homewares, artwork and more.
