About

In 2025 we are holding our second North Pennines NatureFest, packed with events that celebrate nature, heritage and the landscape in the North Pennines National Landscape and UNESCO Global Geopark.

The festival is running between Saturday 24 May and Sunday 8 June 2025.

It’s all about people discovering, enjoying and finding out about nature in the North Pennines. There are lots of events to choose from – all celebrating the outstanding nature, wildlife, plants and rocks found in the area.

Programme:

Family friendly printing workshop, Alston – Sunday 25 May (10am to 12noon)

Family friendly printing workshop, Allendale – Sunday 25 May (2.30pm to 4.30pm)

Geoparks Rock, Talkin Tarn Country Park – Tuesday 27 May (10.30am to 12.30pm)

Volunteer day at Bowlees tree nursery, Bowlees Visitor Centre – Wednesday 28 May (1pm to 4pm)

Wild Wednesday – Geoparks Rock, Bowlees Visitor Centre – Wednesday 28 May (10.30am to 12.30pm)

Geoparks Rock, Blanchland – Thursday 29 May (10.30am to 12.30pm)

Saturday stroll – NatureFest special, Westgate/Slitt Woods – Saturday 31 May (10.30am to 2.30pm)

High Helbeck nature walk, Brough/High Helbeck – Wednesday 4 June (10.30am to 3pm)
