In celebration of the Christmas season, join us as we sing some of the best-loved carols and tell the story of Christmas through words and music in an evening not to be missed.
Watch as the evening begins in darkness and the cathedral choirs move through the darkness bringing tidings of joy.

This unique experience brings together the three choirs of Durham Cathedral, including the renowned Durham Cathedral Choir and the voluntary Cathedral Consort of Singers, and the EverReady Band (formerly known as Reg Vardy Band). Witness this rare moment as they perform together underneath the cathedral’s iconic tower.

Readers join us to tell the story of Christmas in spoken word and poetry, including classic favourites from Charles Dickens and John Rutter. Experience a show-stopping rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas intermingled with John Julius Norwich’s The Twelve Days of Christmas Correspondence, a hilarious reimagining of the famous carol.
