Image of someone stargazing outdoors on a beautifully clear night.

About

Due to popular demand Grassholme have laid on this exclusive event to educate the little ones on all things spacey!

Especially so in the middle of half term what better way to get the kids into astronomy and science – interactive talks will be held in the classroom which allow the children to see and touch rocks from space – meteorites.

A stunning interactive talk on space stuff in a purpose-built classroom and then, weather permitting, outside under the stars for some stargazing and peering through telescopes at the planets Jupiter, Saturn and Mars. You will also be able to see the craters on the Moon!

Hot chocolate and radiators if needed too!

All in all, a wonderful introduction to Family Astronomy under the dark skies of Grassholme.

Please visit Grassholme Observatory's website to view their terms and conditions of booking.

You should bring appropriate clothing to keep you warm and arrive at Grassholme no later than 15 minutes before the start of your session.

During your visit, observatory staff will be employing recommendations issued by their health and safety team to ensure your safety. These will mean using hand sanitisers and face masks when inside the classroom. A one way system of access and egress will be in operation at the facility, and you are thanked in advance for your compliance in helping to keep everyone safe.

This is a pet free event, so please don't bring any furry friends!
