There is a lot of scurrying in the woods down at Beamish Hall in Stanley with the opening of the new woodland wonderland – an interactive and free walk that brings childhood dreams to reality.  Wooden cars, chairs and tables,  giant caterpillar tunnels and Alice's tree, all encourage children to get away from behind computers screens and back to the basics of playing outdoors.  The beauty of this woodland adventure is that families can enjoy the activities together whether it be making mud pies or watching the birds and squirrels from the teepee hides, enjoying the giant swings or climbing on oversized pencils, a wander in the Beamish Hall woods is a magical family playground.    

This is the second opening at Beamish Hall in as many months.  Owner David Craggs opened the gates of the Garden Centre, also within the grounds of the Hall in May and is proud to have one of the largest selections of beautiful flowers, unusual shrubs and colourful plants in the area.  This delightful garden sells seasonal plants, eclectic garden furniture and stunning garden art.  Providing expert advice on planning your garden, planting and maintaining, there are regular classes to help you on your way.
