Durham Cathedral is one of only 33 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the UK. Dating back to 1093 it was built to house the remains of St Cuthbert and developed into a thriving monastery and fortress for the infamous Prince Bishops. Following the Dissolution the monastery ceased to exist but The Cathedral and precincts serve as a place of worship. It is also a wonderful venue for a variety of events from concerts to conferences and dinners.
Prior's Hall is steeped in history and is situated in the picturesque College area to the rear of Durham Cathedral. The dark wood paneling and striking décor create a real sense of occasion . An ideal venue for meetings or small conferences with an ante-room where refreshments can be served should you require them. It has played host to small dinners and private parties with our on site catering team offering a broad selection of menu options to suit any budget.
The Hall seats 80 people comfortably and can be arranged to suit any layout that meets your needs. The ante room houses toilet facilities for the sole use of those hiring the space.
