Voting is now officially open for the 2026 Group Leisure & Travel Awards, the longest‑running and most prestigious awards programme celebrating the very best in group travel. Each year, readers of Group Leisure & Travel cast their votes to recognise outstanding attractions, destinations and experiences across the UK—alongside the highly regarded GTO of the Year Award®.
This year’s shortlist features an impressive trio including County Durham, Kynren, and Beamish - The Living Museum of the North, all earning nominations in key categories.
Organisers have confirmed the following nominations for 2026:
Best UK Destination – County Durham
Known for its rich heritage, stunning landscapes and warm welcome, Durham has once again secured its place on the national stage.
Best Event – Kynren
The spectacular open‑air live action show continues to captivate groups with its dramatic retelling of 2,000 years of British history.
Best UK Attraction – Beamish, The Living Museum of the North
A long‑standing favourite with visitors, Beamish is celebrated for bringing history to life with immersive experiences and award‑winning storytelling.
With all three finalists representing the region in such high‑profile categories, supporters are being encouraged to cast their votes and help shine a spotlight on Durham’s exceptional tourism offer.
Awards ceremony set for London this June
Winners will be announced at the 2026 Group Leisure & Travel Awards Dinner and Ceremony, taking place on Friday 12 June at the five‑star Royal Lancaster Hotel, London. The glamorous evening will welcome industry leaders, group organisers and tourism professionals from across the UK.
