Classic Christmas

Classic Christmas

Winter in Durham is simply magical, especially during the festive season. We’ve got Christmas all wrapped up!

• Throughout the festive season the county comes alive with bustling Christmas markets and fayres, including the annual Durham Christmas Festival - taking place every December, with over 200 stalls to browse.
• Visit Durham Cathedral during Advent for special Christmas services and seasonal performances in this atmospheric setting.
• Experience Christmas at Raby Castle with its grand rooms beautifully decorated for the season, and enchanting trails through the deer park and walled gardens.
• Step back in time at Christmas at Beamish Museum, and experience festive celebrations throughout time, from the 1820s to the 1950s. Post-Christmas, visitors can join Twelfth Night celebrations.
• Christmas at Auckland Palace features stunning festive interiors and a magnificent Neapolitan nativity display in the Faith Museum. After dark, the AGLOW light trail illuminates the Palace grounds with spectacular installations and a towering Christmas tree.
• Wrap up Christmas shopping at Dalton Park’s outlet stores, where groups can enjoy big brand bargains and festive discounts on gifts, fashion and accessories.
