Dating back to the early 1600's, Church Cottage sits next door to the church, which overlooks the pretty village green of Gainford and is just a stone's throw from the delightful River Tees. A peaceful retreat for relaxing in style in a cottage full of history and character.
The village of Gainford dates back to Saxon times with numerous Georgian and Victorian period properties. It lies half way between Barnard Castle and Darlington with a pub, post office and excellent local butchers. An ideal base for cycling and walking directly from the door. Enjoy an evening stroll beside the river, which flows just behind the church. Fishing permits are available from the post office. There is also a children's play area in the village.
The cottage comprises two luxurious bedrooms, family bathroom, entrance hall, downstairs WC, spacious lounge and cosy kitchen with glazed double doors lead into a lawn garden, a perfect square walled in stone. At one side of this natural suntrap is the church and to the rear there is a meadow.
The location of Church Cottage is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists with a number of routes and walks available directly from the property.
