Durham Miners Gala. The annual event, which takes place in the city centre, attracts thousands of people each year.
Celebrations include a funfair, stalls, brass bands and marches, while union activists and campaign groups also gather at the event.
Speeches start around 12.30pm followed by a service in Durham Cathedral.
